Beads

Hi

I made some beads yesterday that I'm very happy with.

These were made with some of my murrini. I did different things with the murrini to see what the results would look like.

This is my favourite.

I've not made enough to list for sale and a couple of the beads are very big the biggest is 28mm x 18mm which is pretty big and heavy. I'm not really sure what you would do with it. My thought was that I make more and create a very chunky bracelet which would be a brilliant test for the stuff I use for stringing!

Beads added to Etsy

I've added those beads to my Etsy shop

http://www.etsy.com/shop/BumblinBeads

Thanks for looking

Sally

Beads

These beads are going on my Etsy site when I have time later.

I'm also going to try an experiment of putting a long string of beads that aren't part of a set or didn't quite work out for one reason or another.
They will be £11 and look like this

They will include this one which I love but the hole isn't quite smooth enough to sell on its own as a focal

And this one that I had to stop making because the bead release cracked

Got to go

New beads on Etsy

I've just added 13 new beads to my Etsy Shop.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/BumblinBeads

At the same time as I made those, I used the same murrini from the set I listed yesterday to try and make a flower bead.

The technique needs some work but I can see potential.
The other bead I made didn't come out very well because the clear glass ended up with black streaks which I think comes from using too much propane in the flame.

This is the heart I made that took ages.

I need to work on the holes. They don't look good enough. This is the other side. It was really hard trying to get the right amount of glass in the right place for this bead. It gives me a new appreciation for the perfect heart beads I've seen other lampworkers make.

Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you like it.

New Beads on Etsy

I've just put these beads in my Etsy Shop.

I really like them and spent a while trying to work out how much to ask for them. The murrini takes a while to make and each beads is made very carefully to get the shape and look of the murrini and the bead right. I decided on £16 for the set.

I hope someone likes them enough to buy. The red is gorgeous. I very much enjoy admiring them.

Thanks
Sally

Beads

I've made some beads

The sets will go on Etsy when I get time to string them on something and take proper photos. Hopefully tomorrow.

The colourful one on the left is the odd one out because my gas ran out while I was making it!

The heart was my second attempt to use my new heart press. It's not too awful but I didn't find it as easy as I hoped and it took about half hour to make.
